Account & Data Deletion

You can delete your SellWYK account at any time. This page explains how, what gets removed, what we have to keep for legal reasons, and how to request deletion if you can no longer sign in.

1. Delete from inside the app or website

The fastest path is to sign in and use the in-product control:

1. Open sellwyk.com/me on the web, or the Me tab in the mobile app.
2. Scroll to Delete account.
3. Confirm by typing DELETE in the confirmation box and tap the red button.

Once confirmed, your account is signed out everywhere within seconds and the deletion runs immediately.

2. Email request (if you can’t sign in)

If you’ve lost access to your email or can’t reset your password, email privacy@sellwyk.com from any address with:

• The email address you used to register on SellWYK.
• One identifying detail (a recent payment reference, the title of a course you bought, or your seller display name).
• A clear statement: “Please delete my SellWYK account and personal data.”

We acknowledge within 2 business days and complete the deletion within 30 days. Sellers with unpaid payouts get a one-time hold while we wire the outstanding balance.

3. What gets deleted

• Your name, profile picture, career interests, and account preferences.
• Your Cognito sign-in record (you can’t sign in again).
• Your reviews and feedback you authored.
• For sellers: your display name and biography, payout method on file, and any unpublished drafts.

4. What we keep (and why)

• Order & payout records: retained for 7 years to satisfy tax law and our payment processor’s record-keeping requirements. Records are reduced to the minimum needed: order ID, amount, currency, date, and a tokenised reference. Your name and email are removed.
• Issued certificates:kept indefinitely as a verifiable credential. The certificate page shows only the name that was on the certificate when issued; we do not link it back to your deleted account.
• Course content you published as a seller:remains available to learners who already enrolled. New enrolments are stopped at deletion. If you want the content fully unpublished as well, say so in your request.
• Server logs & aggregate analytics:retained for 90 days in pseudonymised form (no name, no email) for security and abuse investigation.

5. Reactivation

Deletion is permanent. You can sign up again with the same email after deletion, but it’s a fresh account with no link to the old one. Enrolments, certificates, and seller history do not transfer.
