Privacy Policy

SellWYK (“SellWYK”, “we”, “us”) operates the online course marketplace at sellwyk.com. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. Questions? Email support@sellwyk.com.

1. Information we collect

Account information

Your name, email address, password (stored only in hashed form by Amazon Cognito), and account role (learner, seller, or admin). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and Google profile identifier from Google: we never receive your Google password.

Profile

An optional avatar image and any profile details you choose to add.

Course activity

Courses you view, enrol in, and complete; lesson progress; certificates issued; and reviews you write.

Payments

Checkout is handled by a regulated third-party payment provider. We do not see or store your full card number or mobile-wallet PIN. We retain the transaction reference, amount, currency, payment-method type (card or mobile wallet), and processing fee.

Seller payout details

If you sell courses, the bank or mobile-money account details you provide so that we can pay you.

Sponsorship applications

If you apply to the Partner Program, the information you submit in that application form.

Support correspondence

Emails and messages you send to us.

Technical data

IP address, browser and device information, and session cookies: collected automatically to keep you signed in and to keep the platform secure.

2. How we use your information

• To create and operate your account.
• To process enrolments, payments, and seller payouts.
• To issue certificates and track course progress.
• To respond to your support requests.
• To send transactional email: receipts, verification codes, payout notices, and renewal reminders.
• To detect, prevent, and investigate fraud and abuse.
• To comply with our legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

3. Service providers

We share data only with the providers that help us run SellWYK:

• Amazon Web Services:hosting and storage (EU, Ireland region).
• Amazon Cognito:account authentication.
• Google:“Sign in with Google”, if you choose to use it.
• Payment provider: a regulated processor handling card and mobile-wallet payments.
• Resend and Amazon SES:sending email.

Each provider processes your data only on our instructions.

4. Cookies

We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to secure the sign-in flow. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Blocking necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in.

5. Data retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. Transaction and payout records are kept for as long as required for tax and accounting purposes. When you ask us to delete your account, we remove your personal data except for records we are legally required to keep.

6. Your rights

You can:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate data: most of it directly from your profile.
• Delete your account at any time from your profile on the web or the mobile app. The delete affordance is at the bottom of the Me screen. We confirm with a type-DELETE step to avoid accidental deletions; once you confirm, your sign-in is immediately revoked and your personal data is scrubbed (see Section 5 for the records we are legally required to keep).
• Object to or restrict certain processing.

7. Security

We protect your data with encryption in transit and at rest, hashed passwords, multi-factor authentication for administrators, and least-privilege access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we work continually to keep your data safe.

8. International transfers

SellWYK serves customers across West Africa and beyond, while our infrastructure is hosted in the European Union (Ireland). Where data crosses borders, we rely on the safeguards offered by our service providers.

9. Children

SellWYK is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above and, for significant changes, notify you by email or in the app.
